The Past Presidents Film Series is an informal oral history of the Union going back to the 1950s. Through individually filmed interviews with past Presidents and officers, the series will enlighten perspectives on the Union, its workings and its purpose. The stories told will highlight the significance of student leadership at the Union, while also capturing Members' reflections on the importance of the society and its role in debate and free speech today.
Already, a significant number of very high-profile past Members have agreed to take part. The interviews are intended for broadcast on the Oxford Union website and YouTube channel which has 2.2m subscribers. All footage will be stored in perpetuity by the Union archives for research purposes.
If you are a past President or officer, please donate to this fund and consider appearing in the series. If you have an interesting story to tell, we would like to hear from you. Please contact development@oxford-union.org with a short description of your term and we will be in touch.
